This site is made by one person. No publisher, no agency, no tourist board — and nobody paying for a listing.
How the calendar is built
The event calendar merges publicly available listings from several sources: the culture calendars of Funchal and the region, the programmes of individual venues and promoters, and submissions from organisers themselves. Duplicates are merged; dates and times always come from the source’s detail page and never from an overview — overviews frequently give the date of the surrounding festival week rather than of the individual event.
Submitted events are checked by hand before they appear. The check covers whether the event is open to the public and whether place and time can be verified. There is no paid inclusion and no preferential placement.
How the articles are written
The trail, region and guide articles are written on the island. Things that change — opening hours, trail closures, prices — are corrected as soon as they are noticed. Every article carries the date it was last changed.
How the site is funded
Through partner links to tours, hire cars and accommodation. If a booking results, a commission is paid; the price you pay does not change. Such links are marked in the page source and identified in the text. A commission is never a reason for a recommendation.
Found a mistake?
Corrections about wrong dates, closed trails or outdated details are welcome and are made as soon as they are substantiated.
