The course hosted the <strong>Madeira Islands Open<\/strong> for years and is considered the tougher of the island&#8217;s two \u2014 mostly because there is almost always wind.<\/p>\n<h2>When it&#8217;s best<\/h2>\n<p>As a check for anyone heading east. Santo da Serra sits exactly at the height where the north-east trade piles up. Cloud running through here while <a href=\"\/en\/canical-webcam\/\">Cani\u00e7al<\/a> is in sunshine below isn&#8217;t a contradiction \u2014 it&#8217;s the normal case.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re going riding, walking, or to the Sunday market, pack a jacket: it&#8217;s reliably a few degrees cooler here than in Funchal.<\/p>\n<h2>Watch it or go?<\/h2>\n<p>Golfers: go, but book a tee time and expect wind.<\/p>\n<p>For everyone else it&#8217;s a place you drive through on the way to the <a href=\"\/en\/madeira-osten\/\">Ponta de S\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o<\/a> \u2014 with one exception.
